*LOS ANGELES* (MARCH. 27, 2022)

Star of Uncharted, You and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Tati Gabrielle represented Suzy Amis Cameron’s RCGD Global™ initiative in collaboration with TENCEL™, as she shined on the red carpet at 94th Academy Awards ® wearing an ethical and eco-responsible Hellessy custom-made gown in a TENCEL™  fabric paired with HELLESSY archive golden fringe styled by Jean Chung.

To qualify as a RCGD eco-conscious garment, each piece should be made from sustainable materials –  including organic, recycled or repurposed fibers. Other features include using hand-made craftsmanship details and small local production with a dedicated focus on minimal negative impact on the environment, and environmentally and socially responsible design. The campaign focuses on social elements of sustainability including human resources, community impact, value cycle and legal frameworks.

Tati Gabrielle is an agent of change and sustainability advocate of African-American and Korean descent. She wore a custom HELLESSY off-shoulder cape gown dress with fringing that drips like frost around the body. The gown draws inspiration from designer Sylvie Millstein’s AW22 collection that debuted via private appointment during New York Fashion Week last month. Made from a (insert a sentence on fabric) the gown is a timeless embodiment of the HELLESSY modern heirloom brand ethos.

“It’s been a dream working with Tati. It’s an honor to have her in a custom HELLESSY  gown for an event of such global importance. This occasion in partnership with RCGD Global™ and TENCEL™ holds significance beyond the red carpet in supporting the message of sustainable fashion around the world. I saw Tati first in YOU and was blown away by her. She has such a bright future ahead of her and I am so grateful that she chose to wear HELLESSY to share her voice at the Oscars this year.” – Sylvie Millstein, Founder and Creative Director

About RCGD GLOBAL™

RCGD Global™ is a women-led global change-making organisation working from ‘moment’ to movement, bringing sustainability to the forefront of conversation and action within the fashion and apparel industry. Celebrating its 10th year in 2019, the campaign was conceived by Suzy Amis Cameron (actress, environmental advocate, and author of OMD: The Simple, Plant-Based Program to Save Your Health, Save Your Waistline and Save the Planet). When faced with the lack of ethical fashion choices while attending global premieres of husband James Camerons’ ‘Avatar’, Suzy decided that it was time for a change. The RCGD Global™ goal is to draw attention to the importance of more sustainable practices in fashion and be part of bringing those solutions to the global market. Suzy created an international design contest, challenging emerging and established designers worldwide to develop sustainable Oscar-worthy gowns, thus fulfilling the RCGD Global™ criteria to serve the need for more sustainability in the industry.

Leading fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, Armani, Elie Saab, Swarovski, Christian Siriano, Bulgari, Dunhill and Reformation have joined the campaign to create sustainable red carpet wear. Celebrities including Sophie Turner, Emma Roberts, Marlee Matlin, Danielle MacDonald, Gina Rodriguez, LaKeith Stanfield, Kellan Lutz, Camila Alves, and Naomie Harris have joined the campaign as representatives. RCGD Global™ has been featured in VOGUE, Vanity Fair, W Magazine, People, The Hollywood Reporter, WWD, Washington Post, Harper’s Bazaar, Refinery29, The Guardian, ELLE, LA Times, The New York Times, InStyle amongst others across 36 countries.

In 2022, Red Carpet Green Green unveiled its rebrand to RCGD Global to fully encompass the multitude of spaces that the organisation exists in. RCGD Global’s much loved workshop series launched in 2020, followed by its multi-media app in 2021. Beyond this their consultancy work focuses on businesses seeking guidance on social impact consideration, fair and humane treatment of manufacturers, a clear supply chain, and materials that use a high proportion of recycled and biodegradable materials. They are specialists in helping to develop and leverage language to create real change by changing the status quo within the industry to become more socially fair, equitable and representative of global communities.
