*LOS ANGELES* (MARCH. 27, 2022)

Lifelong sustainability advocate and mother of Billie Eilish and Finneas, Maggie Baird represented Suzy Amis Cameron’s RCGD Global  initiative in collaboration with TENCEL™, as she shined on the red carpet at 94th Academy Awards ® wearing an ethical and eco-responsible BENEDETTI LIFE custom-made gown in a luxurious black textile made from TENCEL™ filament yarn paired with a blue fabric made of TENCEL™ LUXE filament yarn. The gown is an homage to the sea, to the oceans, to the waters that make life possible.

Partnering for a third consecutive year at the 94th Academy Awards ®, the RCGD Global and TENCEL™ annual partnership produces occasionwear using renewable cellulose-based sources of 100% botanic origin. To qualify as a RCGD Global eco-conscious garment, each piece should be made from sustainable materials –  including organic, recycled or repurposed fibers. Other features include using hand-made craftsmanship details or small local production with a dedicated focus on minimal negative impact on the environment and people. The campaign focuses on social elements of sustainability including human resources, community impact, value cycle and legal frameworks

Founder of the award winning Support + Feed, Maggie Baird is a dedicated climate activist. Styled by Cassandra Dittmer, she wore a custom BENEDETTI LIFE  “The Big Blue” Eco Couture dress that was inspired by the underwater world and strange beauties of the sea to interact with the environment through textile manipulations.

‘’From the deepest part of the ocean where you can’t see any more, to a deep blue of the upper part of the dress I tried to catch a feeling of the sea light, water movement, and hardness of rocks. The dress is made with a mix of sustainable & plant based materials, some parts are fixed in a corset and others lighter ones freely move and are very rich in textures that reminds coral reefs. The eco couture dress is an homage to the sea, to the oceans, to the waters that makes life possible.’’ – Matea Benedetti, Founder and Creative Director – BENEDETTI LIFE

The sustainable luxury range of textiles from RCGD Global will be available for retail this year.
