RCGD Global is a sustainable fashion design campaign, raising awareness about the global impact of the fashion industry on people and the planet.
The short video ‘Designing Change’ follows Suzy Amis Cameron’s RCGD Global campaign from its inception with the Avatar press run in 2009 through to the recent Oscars ceremony in 2016, which saw Sophie Turner and Lily Cole walk the carpet as ambassadors. The video highlights the sustainable fashion journey—the pitfalls, challenges and creative solutions—as talented teams create red carpet-worthy dresses each year for ambassadors, such as Naomie Harris, Gina Rodriguez and Missi Pyle, to grace the Academy Awards’ red carpet. With design teams, sponsors, partners, students and experts alike, including the iconic Dame Vivienne Westwood, Penny Walsh and the Royal School of Needlework, the video showcases a committed network of fashion partners. Narrated by Campaign Director Samata Pattinson.
