Chloe East, the incredible star of Steven Spielber Chloe East, the incredible star of Steven Spielberg's Oscar-nominated film 'The Fablemans,' styled by the talented @mollyddickson, @chloeeast graced the Oscars in a breathtaking @moniquelhuillier gown, and what makes this look even more remarkable is its eco-conscious journey! 🌍♻️

This stunning gown was a true labor of love, created in Monique Lhuillier’s vertical Los Angeles atelier with the skilled hands of local dedicated artisans. Patterns and fabrics were reworked and re-purposed to craft this one-of-a-kind custom masterpiece. 🧵👗

The dress featured a dramatic elongated velvet bodice, reimagined and customized from Lhuillier’s Fall 2019 Collection, paired with an architectural A-line ball gown skirt and a bow detail with sweeping ties to complete the look. 🎀✨

Chloe East elevated the timeless gown with a mix of modern and vintage jewels, creating a classic yet youthful and fresh appearance. 💎✨

But the story doesn't end there! 🌟 Chloe East's sustainable Oscars look was part of the ongoing partnership between RCGD Global and @tencel_global at the 95th @theacademy Awards®.

As Monique Lhuillier beautifully puts it, "Sustainability is something I am passionate about without compromising design." 🌟✨

there is no one way to make yours, & building your own is actually really fun!! i try to look for certifications like @bcorporation and prioritize regenerative fabrics like hemp (!!) and organic cotton + linen over polyesters.

Some of these intentional pieces are from @twothirds_bcn an ocean minded + family-owned brand that integrates ALL of these sustainable approaches into their process for the same reason I do: to do less harm to the ocean 🌊

The Fred Leighton antique diamond star tiara inspired this most exciting collaboration which celebrates the beauty and the unique spirit of this antique jewel, bringing it beautifully to the present. A truly amazing story of giving old heritage pieces with such a wonderful level of craftsmanship new life. Dating from c1890, the tiara’s diamond stars are set in an old mine cut and rose cut diamonds mounted in silver on gold, a traditional setting of diamonds in that era. The diamond stars were affixed to the tiara frame and were made to be detachable. This is not uncommon in such jewels- these diamond stars were made to be worn and in many creative ways! Through the tiara’s history it would have had many attachments- worn as brooches, on hair pins, hair combs, and as pendants on a necklace.

“Every day we’re seeing more evidence – fossil fuel pollution is directly harming our communities and accelerating the climate crisis. Pollution from burning oil, gas, and coal contaminates our air and water and increases deadly climate impacts like heatwaves, fires, and flooding. We need an immediate and just transition off fossil fuels.
That’s why thousands of people from all backgrounds and all ages are coming together in New York City to call on President Biden to #endfossilfuels We’re marching a few days ahead of the United Nations Climate Ambition Summit, where for the first time, world leaders are being asked to get serious about their plans to #endfossilfuels
We’re marching because we need to send a clear message to world leaders – especially President Biden – that it’s time to #endfossilfuels We deserve a future that is free from fossil fuels – a livable future, with clean air and water, good jobs for our families, and a planet where our lands and oceans thrive.
Join me and thousands of others on September 17th in NYC at the UN for the March to End Fossil Fuels. This is a critical moment to show President Biden that we’re tired of waiting – we need to #endfossilfuels now.
Sign up at endfossilfuels.us and I’ll see you there!”
